Happy new year!

Well, ive had a great christmas. Gotten alot of good food (a bit to much im affraid!), and some nice time in a snowy landscape in the western mountains of Sweden. Was awsome. We went to an frozen waterfall. Had a great time in the cabbin, and just relaxed alot.

I have also managed to squeze in some training in these hectic christmas time. Working in the gymnasium, getting some technique training down. Working a bit more on my flips, and my parkour skills in general.

Also been working out with free weights, to enchance my strength, and burn some of the christmas calories away :)

All in all, the holidays have so far been really nice. New years eve tomorrow. Will be a relaxed evening, just me and my girlfriend, some good food, and moderate amounts of alcohol. I aim to do a 5 km run on the first morning of the new year. So I guess I wont be up so much longer then after the clock has passed twelve ;)

We will see. Anyway, did some new achivements just before christmas. Made two small clips, ill link em

First, is my first muscleup transisition! Finally managed to get in the technique of moving my hands properly so I could press my body up thru the transisition into the dip. Didnt manage to get it down every atempt, but im making progress! Ive noticed its not just pure strength I lack. Its alot more technique then I thought in it aswell. So Ill be doing those "cheat" muscleups to train my transisition some more.

Also got over my mental barrier pretty much for the wallflip. Really nice to be doing some progress. Also I got my first double kong down. My first proper, where i manage to extend my legs in between the two objects. No big gap im doing. Im just trying the technique out. So ill probably be trying some bigger gaps soon enough as my technique improves.

Well. Just watch the two short clips.

Also, im going to try to do alot more strength training focusing using my own body weight, instead of lifting weights in the gym. I think I dont want to bulk up anymore, but rather become a bit more slim, and improve my endurance. So im going to try a four week "circle routine", and see what kind of difference it will make. Will be interesting, and ill be posting my progress.

Ill try to make some strength training clip aswell, to give you an idea of how I train. Might be interesting ;)

Anyway, I wish you all a happy new year, and I hope you have had a great christmas!

Cheers!

Good day, good week

Well, its been a good day for me. With some nice training, and a good week all in all.
I have been training the whole week more or less, working mostly on strength and technique this week. Going to take a long run on sunday I think. I am really in the mood for a long run.

This week has been pretty ok weather wise. Some lights of sun has managed to come thru the thick grey clouds here. Been really nice, and helping in this dark season of the year.

So I have been outside training alot this week. Went to the gym for the first time this week today. But I did train outside earlier today. Did some nice balance training, and alot of precision jumps. Felt really good.

Then later in the afternoon when I was in the gym, I went to the gymnastics hall, and set up an obstacle course. Was really good training, to get some flow, and nail some obstacles I havent tried much before.
I got to train on kong jump to cat, and kong to precision jump thatI havent trained before. Also trained some tight underbars.

On the everyday non training aspect of my life. Nothing much to report right now. My girlfriend just did her last day at work, before the christmas holidays. So now we are both off from work, wich is great. Going to get alot of time together. Christmas is all planned out, and we will be spending it with her parents, wich we usually do. Ill have to try to not eat to much of the unhealthy stuff. :)

Then after christmas we are going to a family cabbin we have in my family in the northen parts of "Dalarna" (the middle of sweden). For some skiing, sauna and snow. They have looots of snow up there, unlike here. Here it looks more like its april. Wich is both good and bad in my oppinion. Good for my training, but bad since everything is so much darker. Besides, Its winter. There should be some snow here!

Oh well. Cant have everything I suppose. We did have tons of snow here for a week. But that has all melted away now unfortunally. Lets hope we get some new!

Also. I have been talking alot about my backflips, and my progress with flips in general. I dont only train that kind of stuff. Its actually a very small part of my training. Its just something I do as a suppliment to my normal parkour training due to the fact that its fun, and i enjoy to challenge myself with new things to overcome! Just to clarify. Flips has nothing to do with parkour. I dont mind doing them, nor people doing them. Just as long as people dont call flips parkour. Then its parkour AND flips. Just felt a need to clarify that, due to the fact that alot of my posts have been so focused on my flips progression, even tho I intended for this to be a parkour training blog. I guess its just a training blog right now. :)

Stay safe everyone. Bedtime for me now..

Been a while

Ive been a bit lazy latley it seems. Havent really thought about writing here for some time now. Been working, and training, and havent really thought about this..

Oh well. Better late then never. Besides. Nothing really interesting to say. Havent happend much new things with my training. Small improvements here and there in my technique regarding parkour, and some minor strength and condition improvements.

I did actually do my first backflip outside on grass today. On flat ground I mean. Filmed it too. So ill upload it later.

I guess my fear for backflips is my biggest improvement so far. Has nothing to do with parkour really. But in a way it still does. For me atleast. It helps me to learn that I can do things I didnt think I was able to before. I have really learned to master my fear, and not be affraid to try new things. Some jumps is not as frightening anymore to try. If I fail, I dont get scared as easily now either. I just get up, and try again. So, in a way, for me atleast, it helps alot to learn backflips and other flips. But mainly, Im learning them cause its alot of fun!

As a side note, I got some time off from work aswell. Dont start again untill 5:th of january! So I got myself a x-mas vaacation! Really great, and I hope I can put all this spare time to good use. I will sure train alot! :)

Anyway. Take care. Now Im gonna get ready for bed.
