Been a while.. Again..

Updating my blog is nothing im very good at!

I assume I am to busy enjoying the sun, life and training. Also, I dont feel I have any interesting topic to adress..

It just dont feel very interesting for people to read:

- "Today I worked on my precisions ..bla bla bla.."

So I will return when I actually have some more profound to say. Some thoughts and ideas.

Anyway, Ill give a quick update on my life in general anyway.
Training going well. I feel I am really evolving both mentally and physically. I dare more, and I feel that I am capable of more now. Realized the other day, that I have actually been into parkour for about a year now. Havent trained seriously for more then maybe 9 - 10 months tho.

I have also started to seriously look into purchasing a new camera. Not decided on what to buy yet, but I dont think I will spend the money for a HD camera. I think I will settle with a SD camera. Will be enough for my needs Id wager, and it wont burn to big a hole in my wallet either :)

With that new camera I will make a 1 year progression sampler sometime this fall I think.

Also, here is my latest little sampler! Nothing fancy, just felt like putting together the little material I had lying around.

Have a great summer, and who knows. Maybe we will meet up sometime during the summer!
Im going to London in the middle/end of august.

Take care!

Head cam test!

This is just a test. I will upload a better clip with more variation in the movement soon.

Placing the cam on the head made the focus come a bit high, instead of where I look with my eyes. So I will try it out on the chest next time instead. Should be less in the way like that aswell.

Anyway. Besides this little test. Life is going well. I train hard, and im having tons of fun. Been a bit bad on training my acrobatics latley tho. Mostly running, and strength training. I will hopefully get more time for the acros soon tho. :-)

Anyway. Here is my little test.. More to come!

Mental challenges

I read a blog entry on parkour generations there other day about mental challenges, and I was really intrigued by the challenge the author of the post issued to all the readers.

Go out, and find a challenge. Doesnt have to be hard or spectacular, just something you dont dare, or have been able to do, but suddenly have lost the confidence to do now.

Confront your fears, and do it. Overcome the mental obstacle!

I have beaten more then one since I read the post. But I went out, the other day and filmed one challenge I have had my eyes on for a while.

Here is the blog entry:
Parkour generations

And my challenge!

Going home

This weekend I had a quick visit in my old hometown. To spend some time with my mom, my little brother and my old friends from "tha hood" :)

Had a great time, and it was really fun to catch up with old friends, even tho time wasnt enough to hook up with all of those I would have liked too.

Saturday was devoted to training tho. I knew there was some people training in my home town and neighbour town. So I got in touch with a guy from the neighbour town, and we agreed to meet up and train, and try to get some more people to join in.

In the end, only one more came.. But it was still great fun. They showed me around on some of the spots they have spent their years on, and I managed to get some new challenges and beat some newly arrived challenges. Was alot of fun!

We spent all day training, and my body felt pretty sore when I got back to my moms later in the evening! We started out at 12 pm, with some warming up. Then we ended the day around 7 pm, with a short break in the middle for food. Was pretty intense, but was really fun. I learned so much, and I did alot of new stuff. Was really great.

I got a daysampler put together aswell. I managed to forget to use my camera most of the day, but I got a few shots atleast. :)

Also, on sunday when I was going home. I knew that the people in Uppsala had the regulary sunday training, so I hooked up with them as I had to wait for my bus there for 50 minutes. So I manged to get a good 20 minutes or so training with them aswell.

Showed me some really sweet spots we will probably return to this coming sunday when we will have small jam with some people from Stockholm coming aswell. Will be awsome im sure!

Anyway. Now I need to grab something to eat. Take care!

Suma Summarum

Not much to report. Nothing spectacular that has happend recently. I have been training hard as always..

Also, I went to the good doctor, and got my knee x-rayed. Seems like my knee problem is from an old healed schlatter injury. I seem to have some bone fragment that lies in my knee. Nothing I have to worry about apperantly. I guess my pains is just due to me training wrong and to hard. So I will adjust and make it better. Already feeling the difference from training a bit more focused on my legs, and taking it easy on high drops.

Also, the easter has been great. Been back home and visited my family, and we had a great weekend in the mountains with lots of snow, and snowmobile riding. Been great. Had over 1m of snow there.. And here where I live, its full spring. So quite a difference :-)

Im really bad at uploading pictures. But I swear. I will upload some from this weekend tomorrow. Was amazing to spend alot of time in that harsh and waste snowy landscape. Its always breathtaking to be up there..

Anyway, now the easter holidays are over, and im back home. Had my first small training session today. Felt really good.. Also had a great visit in Uppsala last sunday. Trained the entire day. Not healthy. But alot of fun!

Was my first outdoor session in Uppsala. So it was really fun to see all the nice spots there, and I also managed to pull off my first backflip (from a fence), down on asfalt. Felt pretty intense. :)

Now im off to bed, to get some rest, so Ill be fit for a long hard day of training tomorrow!

be well!

Spring!

Finally it seems that mother winter is truly defeated. All snow is gone, and the warm sun is really warming now. I was out today with my girlfriend and our dog on the cliffs, and we just played around, playing with the dog, and I took the time to jump around. Train some precisions, stretch and train some handstands.

Also, I managed to do my first completly flawless backflip on grass today! I have done them before on flat ground, but alway landed on all fours basicly. This time I got good height, and good rotation. Tucking a little more and jumping more straight up instead of backwards. Felt so good! I was in a small chock that I managed to do it so smooth. I just thought. Heck, ill try one. And I did 4 - 5 right after just to make sure. And I nailed all of them. I feel really happy now, and it feels great that I managed to defeat my past goal of being able to do proper backflips on grass by this summer. Now I am aiming to do the round off back handspring on grass by this summer. And topping it off with a backflip would be nice ;)

We will see. On monday I will dedicate 2 hours in the gymnasium to pure back handspring training ;)

Now I am going to just sit back, and relax. Take care!

Some march trainings

Some running on the cliffs from two different training sessions. Enjoy ;)

Been a while

Havent had much special activites going on latley, so I havent felt a need to update my blog for a while. Its not so interesting to read that I had oatmeal for breakfast, with a sliced banana, did my 6 mile walk with my dog before lunch, and then went to the gym in the evening.

Thats how my days look basicly when I am not working atm.

I have done some easy training for my knee, wich is actually feeling a little better. But I think this healing will take quite some time. I will probably have to take it pretty easy the whole summer to be completly restored. I hope not, but it feels that way at the moment.

A fun little side note. Thru work we have had a theme of health and diet etc, wich resulted in all employes visiting a seminar about health, excercise, diet and focus (mindfulness). Also, we had a health check. Our colesterol, blood sugar levels and blood pressure (wich was all ok for me). Also we had a meeting with a lifestyle coach to messure our body fat %, and talk about our lives and if we want to change anything. How and so on. The fat % isnt 100% accurat, but pretty good, and I turned out to have 14.8% total fat in my body.. Low % is 15 - 20 for males.. I guess I have a lot less fat then I thought :)

Also, we have been having alot of sun, and great days the past weeks now. Some snow, but it has melted away just a day after it has arrived. So it really feels like spring is slowly beating mother winter up right now. Wich feels great!

So, today I went for my first barefoot run on the cliffs where I live. Was really fun, and for the past two days, I havent been able to resist atleast some jumping around and easy "parkour" movement on the cliffs here. Trained some backflips, precisions and balance. I felt some strain in my knee, but it has indeed gotten alot better, and I can apply some pressure to it now before I feel strain in it. Then I stretch it, and massage it, and quit my jumping session. So far I havent had any pains after a small jump/run session. I guess my training focusing alot on my legs on the gym is starting to pay off.

Now I am going to get some food ready.. Will be a late dinner today, as my gf is running late. Some pasta, and pasta sauce will be nice now after a hard session at the gym.

Take care, and train safe!

Oh noes..

More snow.. It feels like mother winter refuses to let go of our part of Sweden. I was hoping spring was just around the corner the other week. But now we have tons of snow again. Dont get me wrong. I like snow, and I think its beautiful. However now I feel I am in the mood for spring and summer. Ive had enough snow and winter for a while!

Anyway, my training is starting again today after a week and a half of rest, due to my knee and my cold. Now im feeling really good again, so I will atempt day 1 of week 6 of my 100 pushup program. Also im going to the gym to do some free weights. Ill try to train some easy excercices on my legs and see how it feels in my knee. It feels alot better now after a week of pure rest. Lets hope I reach full recovery soon!

Id like to encourage everyone to read this article I stumbled across also. Its very good, and its about a frenchman named Erwan Le Corre, who is a great guy with some good and healthy ideas surronding training. He has adapted the ideas of "Method Naturelle", and has his own webpage(in my links section) where he calls his view on training "Movnat". Check out the article here:

Article

There is also a video on youtube that shows some ideas surronding his ideas of how to use your body and natural surrondings to train:

Enjoy!

Metallica

So, thought id make a quicky before work. Saw Metallica this weekend. Oh my. It was a great show!

I dont have time to mention it to much, but ill upload a video and some images later. It was the first time I saw Metallica. I have always been a fan, even tho not a "super fan". Like my gf ;)

But it was really awsome to see this band that has followed me for so many years live. They really put on a great show, played alot of good old songs (and alot of new ones). I had a blast. Then we also had a hotel night in the package, so that was also pretty nice, to have some where to stay after the show, and not be forced to start to make our way home late at night.

My knee is feeling a little better to. I have done no training at all for the past week now, due to my cold and the knee. By thursday I hope to be fit enough to start conditioning again however. I guess I will be focusing alot of upper body strength the coming month, and ill do very light training for my legs. We will see. But im still happy. No more fever, I got to see Metallica and I had a great weekend. And my knee is feeling better. Maybe the gods have started to smile at me again? :)

holy crap...

05:30

Cant sleep anymore.. Pain in all of my body.. Fever, and headache. I feel so unlucky right now.. Dunno if I will be well enough for metallica on saturday

Curse my bad luck!

First jumpers knee.. Then I get the flue, with pains in all of my body.. Then I might miss metallica..

I hope ill win on the lottery later in life as a compensation :P

Quicky

Thought id add a quick little input.

Today I went to the physiotherapist, and we concluded that I most likely have what is known as "jumpers knee". My english skills is so poor so I dont know how to explain the condition. Ill just cut and paste a link with some info instead ;)

"Jumpers knee"

I think I have grade 1 or 2. So some rest and some simple exercices for the coming 4 - 6 weeks should fix the problem. This means, NO explosive excercises or jumping for that time. So I will be climbing of walls the first week I think.. But considering what will happen if ignored for to long it makes me very eager to rest.

If I reach grade 4, I will have to rest for atleast 3 months from training.. Not fun when the spring/summer is closing in. Also, at that grade of damage a surgery might be needed.

Also, there is another problem knows as: "patella tendonitis" that is sometimes confused with "jumpers knee". Jumpers knee is a degeneration of the tendon, and the first is an inflammation. The first is a bit more serious then "Jumpers knee"..

My therapist said that he wasnt 100% sure I actually had jumpers knee, but it was most likley. So we will try to do my rehab training for 4 - 6 weeks, and alot of rest, and see what happens. If that doesnt work, I think its off to the good doctor to make some x-ray and things like that.. I keep my fingers crossed that I do not have an inflammation.

And to top it all, I feel im getting ill aswell. Been feeling heavy in my head all day, and I had some shivers aswell. Also some sore throat.. The gods do not smile at me right now..

Now im going to go and lay down I think.. Be well!

Been a while

Havent written in a while now. Been to busy keeping my body in motion and training hard ;)

Just got home from a nice 3 hour indoor training session with the people in Uppsala. Was a good fun day! Always alot of fun to train with them.

Did some nice progress I felt there today, and I can hardly wait till the summer comes in all its glory.. I mean, I still train outside even tho we have ice, snow and such here. But I am a bit "crippled" due to the ice and snow. Its a challenge to overcome, and in a way I guess that is what parkour is all about.

But I must say, its alot more fun to train when its atleast a little warmer outside, and no snow.. So I am really looking forward to spring and summer now. Atleast the sun has started to show itself alot more recently. Have had a great week so far with alot of sun, and some nice times outdoors.

I am however having some feelings in my left knee. Something I have felt since the last summer. Recently tho I have started to have a bit more pains in my knee, so I think I will have to look it up. Hopefully I wont have to do any surgery.. But we will see what x-ray and the physiotherapist will say.

Today I have had some thoughts regarding training, parkour and competition. Something I do not endorce in any way when it comes to parkour, or freerunning. However, competition is defined in many ways. Do we not compete when we challenge our friend to do what we just did? Or when we "play" and we try to "push" eachother in a reasonable fashion?

Sometimes competition doesnt always mean that we compete for money, and for winners and losers. Sometimes, maybe we compete against our friends in a friendly fashion, we compete against our self. Our past achivements, do we not always strife to overcome them? We always aim to be stronger, faster and more able to help, and be there for those in need. One day, maybe we compete against death..

Anyway, to conclude what I have written, I do not think we can have traditional competitions in le parkour, as it removes the whole idea of what is parkour. We can however compete against ourselves. And we have to wonder about the word, and how we define "competition". Competition is always competition. But the outcome of competition is what can differ.

But in the end, I guess there are more negative aspects involving the word competitions. Hopefully parkour will evolve with the help of people like David Belle, Yamakasi and parkour generations towards an understanding that makes competition unthinkable for the mass of practioners of the art. In the spirit of le parkour, there can be no winners, and no losers.. Only practioners.

Compete against yourself. And challenge your friends!

Good couple of days

Howdy ho!

Been a good couple of days i must say! :)

Thursday, I went to Stockholm for some nice training. Had a really nice session with the brave souls there who defied the poor weather. Cold, and some snow. But nothing that stopped us from doing good training, and having fun!

Unfortunally he who lead the trainings cut his hand up on some glass most likely. Was a big and very nasty cut. So he had to head of to the emergency to check it out.

We carried on with the trainings after making sure he was alright, and helping him bandage the wound. This shows the importance of always having some first aid stuff along when training! Something I will always have in my training bag from now on!

The rest of the training session went smoth. We had a nice spot where we trained some flow and had alot fun.

One of the guys thought my train left at 21:11 (it really went at 22:11), so he lured me off thinking I was about to miss my train, telling me: "Hey, was your train leaving at 10 past? If so, you got 13 minutes".. I set of running, not really thinking, and I ran for my life to the train station. After two hours of training, even 1.4 km is a hard run to do in less then 10 minutes..

I arrived at the station just to miss the train. I talked to some people there, who also missed that train, and that was when I realized I was there one hour to soon!

Oh well, I took the time to grab something to eat, and then I found a great spot to practice some vaults, and some at the beginning very challengeing precisions. Was a good fun hour anyway even tho our time misstake ;)

Yesterday I took an easy day just realaxing, and basicly only training handstands, and took a loong walk in the woods with my dog and fiance. We have been taking these hour and a half walks in the woods now all week. Have been great! And we have been blessed with alot of sunshine, and great weather.

As this week now comes to an end, and I look back on the past week, I have to say it has been a great week. One of the best weeks in a long time. Lots of sun, ive been spending alot of time with my fiance. I have had alot of time to train, and I feel I have progressed alot just on this week alone.

It would have been a great ending of the week if I didnt work tomorrow, but I do. So, I will miss the sunday trainings in Uppsala this week. But I will go next week instead. Had a good indoor session today instead. Worked alot on some flow work, and precisions. And did some really nice upper body conditioning. Felt great!

Also worked alot on my muscle ups. I have gotten down to basics. I think I had to high goals thinking I could train directly from a dead hang. So now I am "jumping into them", just to get the proper technique for the transistion. Feels great, and I really feel im progressing alot. In a week, Ill raise the bar a couple of inches, so I cant jump so much. Right now its at 1.7 meters. By the end of next week ill start working on the bar at 1.8 meters or so.

By this summer im sure I can do a couple! :)

Now im off to eat some pizza with our neighbours. Homemade I might add to make a em a little healthier.

Take care, and hope you are living your life as you want to live it, wherever you might be!

Just realized

Yeah, I just realized I have forgotten to post a link to a very inspirational and good and informative movie about parkour. An documentary made my some lads from England. Its very well done, and explains in a good fashion about parkour and the training behind it.

I recomend anyone who either has little to no knowlege about parkour, or those who have trained for some time but missed this documentary to see it!

So, with no further ado, here it is (four episodes. Just linking episode 1 here):

Ill write again tomorrow about this evenings trainings. :)

Hardcore training..

Phew.. Today was an intense day! :)

First this morning before breakfast I figured Id try to do some running since I havent been running anything since this last saturday. Figured id try the longest route they have in the terrain route here on the running track. Was an great morning, -6 degrees celcius, but no wind. So it was pretty cold but I did an good warmup, and I had a good balance of clothing. Not to much, and not to little.

The running went alot better then I thought, and I managed to complete the 7.5 km course. Plus the distance between the track and my home. There and back. So I figure I ran about 8 km today. Im really pleased, since the longest ive tried to run so far is around 5 - 6 km. Also I did the running alot faster then I thought (not trying to do it fast tho), managed to hit it at around 45 - 50 minutes. Could most certanly have done it faster. But im pleased anyway. Felt sooo good!

Then me and my fiance took our dog for a long walk in the woods later on the afternoon. A good hour and a half of fast paced walking in terrain. Was fun, and refreshing!

Then in the late afternoon I managed to drag both myself and my fiance to the gym. Felt really good, and I was supprised to see that I had so much energy after my intense morning.

Then when I got home we made a great dinner. Some sort of wook with noodles, vegtables and meat. Got really spicy and good! Darn, my fiance sure can cook a good meal. I wish I had her sence for how to spice food!

Anyway, after dinner I rememberd this was supposed to be my day 1 of week 4 of my 100 pushups program.. Said and done, I got down on the floor, and sure enough, I did it. So, tomorrow will be day 2 of my week 4.

Also, tomorrow im going to Stockholm again for some good training. Really looking forward to it!

Now my sore body needs some sleep. Tomorrow will be an intense day aswell!

Internet issues

Hello

Been having some problems with my internet the past couple of days. Turned out my modem was broken. I have nice neighbours, so I could borrow theirs to verify..

Anyway. Last sunday I went to Uppsala to train with some of the local traceurs there. Was great fun, and good training!

They are very good, and very nice people with access to an gymnasium each sunday for 3 hours. Also, they train some kickboxing/muy-thai when they are there. Got some mits and gloves for sparring. Next time im there, I think Ill try out some sparring to. Been a while since I trained any form of martial arts. But I guess its like riding a bike ;)

As for the training, we trained alot of technical aspects. Had a great warmup, that really got me warm. We also had two beginners along, that was starting out. They did great I must say! I hope they liked the concept of this kind of training, and that they will keep training, and come back the coming sundays.

This thursday, I am going back to Stockholm for some enjoyable outdoor trainings. Will be alot of fun im sure. And I will most likley have a lot of sore bodyparts on friday ;)

Now im off to walk my dog, then im going to train some. Take care.

Tomorrow ill do day 1 of week 4 of my 100 pushup program aswell. Ill keep you updated ;)

Bye bye

Pushups and insomnia..

Howdy people.

So, ive been working nights this week. Thus not getting much sleep. I cant sleep to long, cause I have to get up an walk my dog after about four hours of sleep. And after that, I usually cant fall back to sleep.. So with that in mind, I decided as I mentioned earlier that I would not train so intense this week as I usually do.

So, I found the one hundred pushups training program. Seemed like fun, so im giving it a go! ;)

So far, Ive started out at week 3 due to my initial strength. I just a few minutes ago did the last set (of 5), on day 3 of the week 3. Felt really good. Managed to do 41 pushups as my last set (maxing the last fifth set). I am actually stronger then I expected. The one hundred pushup doesnt look so far off. Looking forward to week 4 and what that might bring.

Also worked some precisions and pullups today while out in the woods with my dog. Felt really full of energy today, despite my few hours of sleep.

Now im going to bed tho. Im going to my brother tomorrow, as he and his wife recently got another member to their family. A little girl.. So it will be great to meet them, and see their new daughter.

Take care, and train safe!

Tired

Well, I managed to get a good six hours sleep after my night shift. Feels pretty ok. Not in the best shape to do any hard training these coming two days due to my odd working hours.

I will on monday, tuesday and wensday focus on some light upper body conditioning I have decided. Thus giving my legs and back some rest from the weekends pretty intense training focusing on my lower body mainly.

So, to train my upper body in a light fashion (starting "easy" atleast), I will try a training program out called; "One hundred pushups training program". This will hopefully strengthen my upper body, helping me to reach my goal towards a clean dead hang muscle up. Also, it should be some fun! I remember I mentioned somewhere around november, that I figured id be able to do around 100 pushups in one set in january. Well, At the most I have done 58 so far. So I still have a bit to go.

Due to my initial strength, I will start at week 3. So for me, it should take three weeks to reach the one hundred pushup. We will see how it goes!

Also, worth mentioning, is that my "sunday blog post" actually was posted monday morning, but it says it got published sunday.. If you wonder how I can say that I HAVE worked bla bla, when its still apperantly sunday hehe..

Be well! Im off to do some pushups!

Trainings in the snow

Well, this sunday. I worked for 12 hours.. The night shift. With that in mind when I woke up this sunday I really felt an urge to train and be outside.

So, I look outside.. It rains.. Its snow, its ice.. One of those days you just want to return to bed and stay there for the rest of the day.

But, nah.. Not my style.

I figured id make a little sample, showing how I train under these conditions. Inspired by my saturday training and the video I saw of the scottish fellow (Chris Grant) training in the snow.

So, here is my rainy, snowy and wet sunday sampler.

There are no excuses!

Now.. I need some sleep after my 12 hours at work all night.. ugh!

Inspiration and motivation

Well, ive been resting some the past few days due to my working hours, I havent quite had the energy or time to train properly. I have done some conditioning routines at home, but nothing heavy or hard.

Today however I had a great day. I started the day with an hour in the woods just walking with my dog. Then I hit the gym for some training. Did some conditioning, and free weight training for about an hour, and then I went into the gymnasium for about an hour to train on some flips. Trying really hard to get the side flip down. Pretty hard for me. The rotation feels so wierd, so it makes it hard. But im making progress!

Also trained some backflips, frontflips, and did some pretty neat wallflips. I feel im improving in everything. Slowly, but surely!

Then when I got home, I felt I still had alot of energy, and also I was inspired by a video I saw recently from a traceur from Glasgow, who took the time to train in the recent snow that hit England.

So I found a really nice precision jump routine drill I did with a picknick table, and some ledges. Ill prob make a short clip of my movement there later. Spent almost an hour there, and it felt really good. I had to be very careful due to the ice under the snow, and the risk of slipping. Also the cold and snow made me focus alot more on getting my jumps right. Was really good and fun training!

Oh well. Now im going to relax, and spend some time with my lovley fiance.

Train hard and safe!

Back handspring

I had a hard time sleeping, so I figured id show a little sample of a back handspring from this monday session. They are indeed progressing pretty nice. Now to do em on grass.. hmm..

Forest run - Winter training

Some running and training in the woods, while walking my dog. Snow and cold is no excuse not to train! ;)

Black hole sun, wont you come..

Took the weekend to recover my sore body, partly because well, I felt that I needed to rest my legs mainly. And I worked nights all weekend. So I wasnt quite fit for any training.

Today however I did hit the gymnasium to train some conditioning, and some flips. Worked a little on my wallflip (progressing slowly but surely), backflip, frontflip, and trying to learn the sideflip. Also worked some on my backhand spring. Due to my legs being pretty sore after hard training the past week, I felt I had trouble commiting 100% in my jumps, thus not giving me the best results. Tried to work some on my double kong, but my legs was just to sore to give me enough power for any good kongs. So I took it pretty easy. Felt good to just move, and play around, and clear the fear out of my mind more and more when it comes to flips.

I felt a moment of despair today. It felt like I was getting a bit tired of my flip training. Like it doesnt give any results (after failing, and faling over and over on my side flip atempts). But I also came to realize, that a few months agoo. I couldnt do backflips outside. I was afraid even when I did the backflips on a mat(rug?). Now I can do it on the hard and thin mat(rug?) in the gymnasium. Dont even need the thick one. And I dont even hesitate. Same with my backhand spring, I dont hesitate (atleast not on the thick one) anymore.

I also have done some front flips from height outside onto grass. Didnt dare that either a few months agoo. So when I reconsider, I have made progress. I just have to be patient I assume and my progress will come.

Its just frustrating, to see people in tutorials demonstrate various flips and stuff, and it looks so easy. Then when you try, you realize its not as easy as you think.

Also working on a thick rug, absorbs alot of power, thus making harder to get good power in jumps and such. Safer, but harder.

Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day, and im going to keep working on my sideflips and backhand springs. By the summer im sure I have alot of stuff I can and dare to do on grass.

Besides the acrobatis, I feel my strength in going in the right directon. Tried to work some on my muscle ups today. But I still have a very hard time with them. I manage to pull off a few if I "jump" into the transition. Using my legs and so. Guess its atleast progress. Also been working some precisions outside in the forest, between rocks. Really interesting now as there is alot of snow and ice outside. Have to be very careful. But its good training!

Got today and tomorrow of work too. Feels really good to have alot of spare time to hang out with my fiance, doing stuff at home, and working out.

Also got some sun today. Felt awsome. The daylight stays longer now. So we are going towards brighter times. Cant wait for the spring/summer..

Wind in my hair

Just got in from a refreshing 5 km run. Felt great, even tho my legs are still sore after mondays session in Stockholm. Considering to hit the gym this evening to train some flips. Not sure yet tho. We will see. I have alot of stuff I want to train on..

Tuesday and Wensday was devoted to the gym. Focused on my biceps, chest, back and shoulders. Going to train some light leg training tomorrow, and some triceps I think.

Hmm, I had some more profound and deep thoughts as I was walking my dog, that I was supposed to air on my blog, and write about.. Now I dont remember what on earth I was thinking of! I guess I have to much in my head..

Oh well, another time then. If it was something important, im sure it will come to pass my mind soon again.

Now im going to rest my sore legs, and perhaps train some handstands.

Stay safe!

UPDATE

So, the gymnasium was booked all evening :(
I got promised I could come by between 12:00 pm and 14:00 pm tomorrow however. So that will be great. Took my tricep and leg training today instead. Felt really good. Mixed some free weights with some exercices using my body weight. And my soreness is almost gone from my legs now. woho! :)

Oh well. Now im going to enjoy a big bowl of rice, and tuna for dinner.

The others

Hello there

So, I went to Stockholm yesterday. Was a great trip!
The trip over there took a while, but it was alot cheaper then if I had taken my car. Plus I doubt I would have found my way with car. So much easier going by bus/train. Also, better for the enviroment ;)

Anyway. I met up with Martin and Harry that leads the trainings, plus nine guys more. Was really fun to meet fellow traceurs, as I have never done that before. To speak about my passion, with someone who shares it. To hear others ideas and thoughts about our training. And to simply train alongside others. My first time ever meeting or training with other traceurs. So It felt awsome.

The training itself was very intense. I had an harder time keeping up then I thought id have (not that I fell behind or anything hehe). I see myself as in pretty good shape. But this really made me think again. I know now that I need to work on my endurance and condition alot more. Anyway, it was a great day. Good hard training, and it was wrapped up in alot of fun. Im most definatly going back to Stockholm to train some more rather soon. I will aim to go there atleast once a month I think. Afterall it is quite a ride for me. And I do have obligations at home. A trip like that takes up half a day for me.

Also great to see that there is people as myself defiantly standing against the winter and rain, ice and wet ground. There is no excuses not to train! Its a shame that more dont show up for these kind of trainings. Its really helpful to train in hard conditions. Imagine how easy everything is when its dry and warm outside. :)

A big thanks to all of you whom I trained with this great monday! Was great meeting you all!

Anyway. Time to get ready for todays training.

Train hard and safe!

Resting day

Howdy people!

Had two great sessions friday and saturday. Training my back, legs and shoulders. Felt really good, and I feel im really getting back into shape since I had the flue. I might go out for a short run, or a long walk today. Its really slippery outside tho. Ice everywhere, and rain..

Also, I have made up my mind to go and visit the traceurs in Stockholm tomorrow (monday), and join them in their regular monday session. Its quite a ride, but it will be great fun im sure. I have never trained with other traceurs, nor have I even met a fellow traceur since I started doing parkour. So I imagine it will be alot of good times.

Now I have to book some trains and stuff.. A 200 km long tip ahead of me. And due to them having their trainings rather late (19:00), it will be a late night for me. Ill be leaving home around 14:30, and ill be home around 02:00 at night. Well worth it tho I think!

Also, as a side note. I finally managed to understand why my arms always collaps when I do a standing backhand spring. Finally managed to get the technique towards an acceptable level. Will keep working on that. Tuesday will be devoted for improving my backflips, and working on my backhand spring. Depending on how sore my body will be from my Stockholm trip ofcourse ;)

Take care. Now im going to lean back, and enjoy some coffe and good music.

UPDATE

Yeah. quick update. Couldnt just sit at home. Figured the bad weather wasnt gonna stop me. So I took a refreshing run in the forest. Felt awsome. Was slippery and wet but felt really good. Ran a good 6 km. As I mentioned earlier, I feel im getting back into shape. Now I need some food!

Finally!

Yes, I am finally well from my flue now. It was a very tough one. Had me knocked out for almost two weeks. I had alot of muslce soreness and I had a bad cough.

All is good now tho, I feel great, a bit out of shape. But else I feel really good. I think this two weeks of almost no training has done my body some good. I normally have a real hard time to let my body get total rest. I always have a hard time being still, I usually do atleast something, even tho I should be resting.

So, now some old pains in some joints, like in one of my knees, and one of my wrists is almost gone now. Going to keep to rest them as good as I can.

Also I have done my first training sessions since I got sick. Felt great, even tho I feel I am slightly out of shape.

Did some free weights in the gym yesterday, focusing on my upper body. Then today I played around in the gymnasium, traning some flips, some vaulting and such.

Managed to get the wall flip down pretty good. Landed on my feet and everything. Felt good and fun. Also tried the cheat gainer, or kick to the moon as some call it. Didnt quite land it, but I got the nerves to try it out, as of yet I land on my knees. Guess if I had some more guts, and could try it on hard surface, it would actually be easier to get around. As it is now, the thick rug I train on absorbs alot of my jumping up power. Oh well. Ill get there eventually. Will be when the spring and summer comes, when I can train on sand.

Also Ill try to get to Stockholm to a big gym place they got there. They have these free training days. You pay, and get to use their gymnastics equipment. Like bars, foam rubber pits, trampolines, tumbling floor or what its called etc. Would be great to try some stuff there.

Anyway. Enough rambling. Im back on track, and tomorrow is a new day. Will be focusing on my lower body tomorrow. Mostly body weights, and some free weights aswell.

Take care, and train safe!

Sick..

Yeah, I got a terrible cold at the moment. Rendered me almost useless. Taking the dog out is hard enough for me right now. Sucks really hard, since I have alot of stuff I want to try and train. Oh well, I guess some rest have never hurt.

It is very frustrating tho, to sit and watch alot of clips of people doing parkour, or training flips, and not being able to go out and train for myself.

On a good side, training wise, all the snow here where I live has melted away now. So now I can do some more training then before. Plus, its not as cold either. Lets hope things wont change by the time im well enough to train. Its really wet tho. But some rain and wet ground hasnt stopped me before. Gotta be ready for all conditions. I even trained out in the snow more or less.

Anyway. Going to train some easy balancing indoors now while im sick, and I think I should take the dog out for a little walk soon.

Take care people.. And if you have any non-computer related tips on what to do while sick, please inform me ;) (already got a good book to read, and I dont like to watch tv)

Stay safe!

Training

Just recently got Sony Vegas 8.0. So, Ive been trying to learn it. Right now, I dont know much of what I am doing. I did manage to put a short clip together. Just uploaded it to show some of my backflips at the end. In my oppinion they have improved some. Not throwing my head back so much anymore, nor am I jumping as much backwards as I used to. I still need to jump more up tho. They can always be better. ;)

Oh well. Ill keep at it.. Stay safe, and train hard!

Snow

There is alot of snow here now. Its both good and bad. Its quite an challenge to do things outside right now. But that is what parkour is all about. Overcoming obstacles. So, I train as much as possible with the conditions I have. Been out running alot the past two days, and have been using this day as a resting day. Really felt my body for one needed to work some more on my condition, and second, get some rest today to recover. Tomorrow the gym/gymnasium will be open again. So I will go and do some light free weight training I think, and then proceed into the gymnasium to train some obstacles. Should be a nice day.

Off to work now. Working nights, wich aint that very fun. But I dont mind that much, since I only got 3 more night lefts to work, then I get a week off. Then I work another week, and I have another week off. So I have alot of sparetime to train on right now.

On a side note. I feel on a great mood!

Stay safe, and be well!

New shoes

Well, Ill make a quick input about the new pair of shoes I got yesterday.
I have been pondering for quite some time now what my new shoes will be. If I were to try those Ariakes light mesh people have been praising, and dissliking or not. I was close to buy them, only to notice that I had chosen the wrong size, and regreting the buy, and cancelling it.. Dont know why I changed my mind really. I guess I have heard to many people being a bit dissapointed on their durability. With that in mind, and the price tag going a bit high due to import taxes, and freight cost, I guess I just figure I need to think about it more.

Plus, I was way to curious of the "Five ten freerunner"´s. Wich I have heard alot of good things about. Only bad thing could be the fact that their grip is acording to alot of people a bit to good. Thus hamstering your technique, due to relying to much on the grip, then yourself.

I thought about that alot, and had kind of made up my mind not to buy them. Afterall, we train to be able to do what we do barefoot if needed. BUT, coming to that conclusion, I also realized, that my nike's arent that much better. I sure cant do the same drops barefoot as in my nikes. So, I could just skip them aswell?

Anyway. Regardless of what people might think, I figured id try to get my own oppinion about the shoes I have been so curious about for so long. So finding them at a swedish retailer (Ariakes is only availible to order from abroad. Another downside), and also I noticed that the pricetag was notable less then the nikes I currently have. I figured, I might aswell order them, to get my own oppinion about them, seeing how they are cheaper then any nikes or adidas I might have ended up buying instead.

So far, I like them alot. They look good. The grip is very nice from what I have noticed from the little I have used them. Not as godlike as many people seem to have made me think tho thankfully. And I like how they feel on my foot when I move in them. Walking, jumping, running and climbing. I like them alot. I notice they are a bit "stiff". But I recon its just cause they are new. Used them on two indoor sessions so far. And I have really enjoyed moving in them. Ill make a better and more accurate "review" about them later on, when I have used them more. And when the snow goes away, so I can use them outdoor some more.

Now im off to watch a movie, and slack for a bit. Tomorrow is running time. Gotta be fresh and rested by then!

Take care!

Quicky

Just doing a quick input.

Been keeping up my training thru the holidays. Went running yesterday. Ran almost 6 km, and damn it felt good. Ran on a running trail in the forest here. They have a terrain path to follow, wich I took. Lots of slopes, and uneven terrain, and rocks to jump over and such. I never expected myself to actually run it nonstop, but I did. And it felt really great.

I also took the time to use the harsh weather we have here. With several minus degrees (celcius), for several days here, we have gotten a nice white layer of frost covering most things here. Looks like it just came a thin layer of snow. But its all just frost. Wich makes most things very slippery.

So, I used that to train some balance, and precision jumps, on, over and between rocks.
Also been doing some training today, some easy parkour movements on slippery surfaces, and also I took a shorter but yet refreshing run today aswell.

Felt great to start the new year with some running and training. Ive also started to work alot more on training with my body as instrument. Doing pushups, squats, dips etc with no weights. Feels really good, and I think it will do wonder for my endurance, and explosive strength.

Also I have really started to notice how my body has improved since this summer. Really fun when you start to notice that things are actually happening with the body thanks to all the training, and my effort to avoid unhealthy food and drinks.

Stay safe everybody. And have a great beginning of the new year!
